Fashion may be beautiful, but surviving in the industry takes grit, guts, tenacity, and vision.
Fashion designer Maria Pinto has dressed some of the world's most stylish women, including First Lady Michelle Obama, Oprah Winfrey, and Brooke Shields. Most recently, the fabulous ladies of the new hit show Empire have worn Maria's designs. But the fashion industry is more than glamour and celebrity. Over lunch, Maria will talk about her experience as a designer and entrepreneur and introduce her Spring/Summer ready-to-wear collection, M2057 by Maria Pinto.
Maria will tell stories from the fashion trenches and share the highs and lows of her 24-year journey in the industry, from starting and closing a business to evolving her brand into a concept relevant to women today. She'll also discuss how women shouldn't be slaves to trends, but rather discover what fashion works best for their bodies and their lifestyles.
This event will take place May 14, beginning with an 11:30 a.m. reception followed by lunch and the program at noon.
