I have worked in fashion retail for about ten years now, and I know how great an impact the right clothing can have on someone's mood and confidence. I think many women think they're lucky if they have one or two pieces in their closets that do that. But since starting at M2057 in the spring, I have seen this every single day with the women who walk through our doors.
It is so fulfilling to hear daily testimonials from our customers like, "I get so many compliments every time I wear this," or "This makes me feel so powerful, I feel like I can take on anything." As soon as women walk out of the dressing room, they see themselves as stronger and more self-assured in that mirror. This is the first time I have worked at a brand where the collection empowers women as the rule, not the exception.
The Fall Collection continues this tradition, and I can't wait for our customers to try the new, dynamic pieces we have in store and online. Below see a few of the pieces I'm most excited about.
Katrina is probably my favorite piece for fall! This voluminous cape is perfect for fall temperatures and such a fabulous alternative to a coat. It is a showstopping piece from every angle—I love the horizontal pintucks, which create beautiful curves in the back. Wear this over slimmer silhouettes like leather pants or skinny jeans and a long-sleeve tee, or a pencil dress with sleeves like the Lilith.
Speaking of Lilith, for all our Stella girls out there, you're going to flip for the long-sleeved version! This dress is so flattering and powerful—it almost has a cinematic superspy vibe to it. I dare you to walk into a meeting wearing this and not feel like you own the room. It's a very versatile dress, too—you're covered up enough for the office, but the 2-way zipper lets you adjust a slit at the neck or hem when you head out after work. The colorblock versions add that extra flattering detail that highlights strong shoulders.
This is my new favorite jacket (it's what I'm wearing above!). I think it's a real problem-solver piece, but with such an interesting design. The wrap style works for all sizes and body types, and lets you adjust the fit so it can be worn cinched or more relaxed. Plus, the longer length covers the booty, which is a nice touch for many of us.
Lucina is just a really lovely, go-everywhere top. (If you are a fan of Veronique, you have to try this!) The pintuck seams create beautiful, three-dimensional details that elevate the fit and design. It's a perfect little office look with a pencil skirt like the New York or Viola and Lola coat, but then you can dress it down with jeans for the weekend. A basic that's anything but!
With its asymmetric design, the Gabi skirt has amazing structured movement to it, but it's still surprisingly versatile. The higher waist and midi-length make it appropriate for work with a jacket like Miriam, but, come holiday time, I think this will make a great party skirt with a sparkly little top. Until then, for fall, keep things coolly chic with knee-high boots and a cropped sweater.
