Fashion and architecture have always been interconnecting passions in my life, and in the fall of 2015, in conjunction with the first Chicago Architecture Biennial, I designed a capsule collection inspired by the work of renowned architect Jeanne Gang. I knew I needed a unique photographer to capture the energy of the collection, so I was ecstatic when Sandro Miller agreed to shoot the campaign. M2057 GANG: Reveal, Architecture of the Body became a true creative collaboration.
This past spring, I was honored when the Costume Council of the Chicago History Museum acquired garments and photographs from the M2057 GANG collection. Please join me, Sandro, and Curator of Costume Petra Slinkard for a conversation about the process of bringing M2057 GANG to life, and how architecture—most recently the work of the incredible Zaha Hadid—has continued to inspire me in fashion design.
I hope to see you at the luncheon!
