Spotlight Series Issue 19 | Eleanor Simon

Another edition of Maria Pinto’s Spotlight Series: In Her Own Words is here. Each month, we feature the dynamic, stylish, and powerful women who inspire us daily.

Meet this month’s spotlight: Eleanor Simon – Maria’s original muse and model.

“How lucky am I to have known Maria for over 30 years – from the beginning of our careers. I feel so blessed to represent the ever evolving woman she designs for. I love expressing how I feel with her pieces.”

Personal

How would you describe your personal style?
A little bit of everything that makes me happy. And bits and pieces of my past.

How are you dressing right now?
Classic mixed with crazy! After the pandemic and wearing lazy clothes at home, I’m pulling pieces that I’ve collected and wearing them all.

Who are some of your style or fashion icons?
I have so many style icons. I take a little bit of everyone and make it me.

What are some of your favorite features of the Maria Pinto collection?
I love how high end all the pieces look – and it’s incredible that they travel so well and are so easy to care for.

What are your favorite Maria Pinto pieces? Why?
At the moment, I love the Winslet. I can dress it up and also make it fun and casual.

Eleanor is wearing the Dora top, Bergman skirt, & Obi belt in Glass, the Bancroft mini tunic in Ferrari & Avenger belt, and the Hudson blouse and Penelope pant in Window with the Ross 2 top in Black.

Work & Lifestyle

What was your path to getting where you are today?
My path was taking a lot of risks, and putting in the hard work.

What are some challenges you've faced in your job or in your life, and how have you tackled them?
The modeling part of my industry is tough; mentally and physically. You are always judged. You really need a good head on your shoulders to stay in the game.

What are some challenges you’re facing right now in your job or life, and how are you tackling them?
Ageism; I am here working hard and doing my best to make a statement that no matter what age, I am still relevant.

How do you create a work/life balance for yourself?
Is it balanced? I’m not sure. I do my best to make my home life a priority. I work hard so we can have incredible family time together. Everything from cultural outings to fun family vacations or just simple gatherings at home.

Quick Takes

How do you take care of yourself?
Quiet time with myself.

If you could live anywhere (and money is no object), where would you choose?
Not one certain place, but I would travel the world and eat my way through it.

Best gift you've ever received?
My children.

What wisdom would you tell your younger self?
Just go for it and have no regrets.

Special thanks to  Sarah Kammerer for the beautiful photography for this spotlight!
