A GOOD BOOK IS AN ESCAPE, AND THAT'S SOMETHING THAT WE COULD ALL USE THIS SUMMER.
Need a recommendation? Here are the books that we're enjoying most at M2057:

"I just finished reading Lean In by Sheryl Sandberg. The part of the book i related to most was when she wrote about how women lower their own expectations of what they can achieve. She says, 'Fortune does favor the bold and you'll never know what you're capable of if you don't try.'
This resonated with me because I've always been extremely motivated, but would feel intimidated by those who I felt were 'smarter' or 'more experienced' instead of believing in my own abilities. While motivation is molded by our internal will, I realized it's also influenced by who we surround ourselves with and the spaces which we occupy. Work environment matters. Now that I'm working at a female-owned and -operated company, I am encouraged more than ever to ask questions, seek advice on how to solve problems, and develop my own leadership style that keeps this momentum going. Through this book, I've come to the conclusion that I want to be a resource to the team I oversee so they, too, can grow as young professionals who believe in themselves and their role in any workplace."

"I really loved More than Enough by Elaine Welteroth. It discusses love, identity, and friendship, which of course all of us can relate to. I love that the author shows anything is possible regardless of socioeconomic background through hard work and perseverance. Elaine shows that even though work is important, the relationships you build with others are the most important thing at the end of the day."
