SPOTLIGHT: TAMIKA LANGLEY TREMAGLIO
Welcome to M2057’s Spotlight Series: In Her Own Words, which features dynamic, stylish and powerful women that inspire us.This month, we chatted with Tamika Langley Tremaglio.
For as long as she can remember, Tamika Langley Tremaglio wanted to be a lawyer as a way to combine her love for numbers and passion to make a difference in the world. Not knowing exactly what type of lawyer she wanted to be, motivated Tamika to attend two different schools simultaneously to pursue her J.D. and MBA. Today, Tamika applies her education and experience in both the law and forensic accounting in her role as the Managing Principal for Deloitte’s Greater Washington area where she is responsible for a workforce of more than 13,000 employees. In addition to her busy professional life, she is active in the community and sits on a number of boards, including Lady Gaga’s Born This Way Foundation, Tuskegee University, Mount Saint Mary’s University, and the Greater Washington Board of Trade. When she is not working, Tamika cherishes spending quality time with her amazing husband of 23 years, Greg Tremaglio, and her two teenage sons, Rocque and Reece Tremaglio.
IN HER WORDS
ON CREATING A WORK-LIFE BALANCE Setting boundaries and being very clear about my priorities. We make time for the things we love. Also, understanding that on some days our priorities will be different and giving yourself permission. I also practice forced accountability with the Oura ring and Fitbit.
WHAT BRINGS YOU JOY Being kind and my boys.
YOUR PERSONAL STYLE Corporate luxe with a feminine flare. Yes, I am a leader at the largest professional services firm in the world, but at the end of the day I am still a "girly girl" who lives with three boys and likes fast cars! I still love ruffles, lace and a little bling.
CLOTHES-BUYING CRITERIA Quality, ease of care and, most importantly, do I love it and do I feel amazing when I have it on? I only want to have pieces that I truly love.
TRAVEL MUST-HAVES I love stylish yet flexible jumpers. You can dress them up or down and they’re great for a long, short or overnight flight. You can wear them with sneakers or fancy heels. I never leave home without one!
FAVORITE FASHION FEATURES I love amazing colors and fabrics that feel great against your skin. I like clothes that aren’t fussy and are easy to wear and care for. Women are busier than ever these days running their companies, homes and the world, so having clothes that are functional, stylish and versatile is one less thing we have to worry about.
